get in extras that the Apple Store's don't (or want) carry.
Plus they sometimes don't alway look after some of the third party warranty,

Just a follow-up - to mention a couple of things I have now seen on some of

Some people are suggesting that a 10.6.9 SL update will come before shut-off
and offer iCloud compatibility - though, personally, I wouldn't hold my
breath ;o)

Lol,..that' 10.6.9 with iCloud support has been hanging around since iCloud was
first announced. I'd be surprised if they write it in. They want people to
upgrade to Lion. :o)
In saying that, there is a way to actually upgrade to iCloud and still keep
syncing your iCal and Address Book if
Evening,
I've been into iTunes to download some new apps, and come across a new screen

These are not self selectable questions but some no doubt selected by a person
Hi Tim
I had the same with clients, but all the questions, when you click on the
choices there was one(s) that let you create your own questions and answers, so
you didn't have to use their rubbish ones.
You can still change it to something you want.

Hi Neil,
And there is a work around to keep your @me.com email address in Snow Leopard
without upgrading to Lion.

As you can see I'm currently using Highway 1. Not sure if that is the best ISP
for Apple Lion etc.
Heard the Iinet is Apple friendly.

Hi Ronni,
Thanks for that - it gives much better details than the post I had found
which just gave the general idea.

I've got two G5 machines and so cannot update to Snow Leopard, let alone Lion,

First question is why do you want to change? Highway1 has been around for

If you change ISP, you'll lose your email address. Unless you move to your own
domain name, you're tethered to your ISP unless you want to send out an email
to everyone on your mailing list telling
Um,...I'm pretty much class it as completely impossible. There were quite a
few links to try to get it working, but after a LOT of playing around, it
didn't want to work. It seemed to be a bit hit and miss for Leopard (but was ok
for SL). And one of those things,..how many hours do you spend
I don't have an iPad, but I am trying to help somebody out who does have one,

The iMac is running Snow Leopard I think, and although the iPad has just been

Just wanted to post something of a resolution in case anyone else has similar
problems.
Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to eject the drive properly. The
sequence of events:
1. iMac hard drive makes ticking noise, machine becomes unresponsive.
2. Boot into safe mode, run disk
I knew it was simple but on Sundays I'm simple. Thanks! Looked in the

Hi Callum,
Sorry to hear about your data loss. This is why I always include a bootable
backup in my Backup Strategy. I can't afford 'Down Time' I need to be able to
get back working quickly when a hard drive dies.
Have you read my Backup Strategy? I've posted it plenty of times to WAMUG ;-)
