Oops. Got the two devices reversed. Thanks Ronni.
So I am still curious about all of what I asked except where it says unplug the
trackpad, switch it off instead, and vice versa.
The last part still applies as well. Leaving your pen resting on the trackpad

Hi Carlo,
Ken said he is using a "Wired Mouse" not a wireless mouse.

Hi Ken,
As well as Ronni's relevant question I have some other things you could try to
determine if the problem lies with the wireless mouse or the trackpad.
Does the problem stop when you unplug the trackpad? If the problem is still
there, try plugging the trackpad back in and switching off t

you are using and details on the Bluetooth Trackpad? Brand, is the mouse an
Apple Pro optical etc.
Also are you using USB Overdrive or any extras?

Hi Ken,
Like Carlo I don't understand what you mean by a "Desktop Pointer".
Do you mean your 'cursor' (mouse pointer) that is flying across the screen?
Are you using a wired or wireless mouse?

Hi Muggers,
There is an update for OS X Lion that fixes the problem with windows reopening
even when the feature is disable. It also includes a security fix to prevent
storage of plain text passwords in the log file when using legacy versions of
FileVault.

Hi Stephen,
Using an encrypted sparse bundle as outlined by Ray is indeed an option. If you
son is running OS X Lion he also has the option of encrypting the entire
external drive using FileVault. The new FileVault method has a few advantages
over the older sparse bundle method but be warned th
Stephen,
On any drive use Disk Utility to create a 'New Image' on that drive. The name
you choose for 'Save as' will be the name of the .sparseimage file you are
creating. The name you give for 'Name:' further down is the name of the virtual
disk that appears whenever you open the .sparseimage
Hi everyone,
I am having a small problem with desktop pointer on my iMac. It keeps going
ack to the top right hand corner of the screen.
Whenever I try to move it using either the mouse or the trackpad, it moves a
few centimetres and then jumps back to the top r/h corner.

Hi folks,
My step son who lives in Dubai bought a new external backup drive recently.
It was an Iomega Prestige Portable 1TB.
Because he is always travelling around the world, he needs the data encrypted.
However when he got it home he noticed printed in the instructions "can only be
