Merv I am not aware of anyone using welder or similar and times involve would
probably indicate not. Happens during day and late at night.

I'm pleased you have got a good result; as just taking an Epson Printer to an
Epson Service centre costs normally $100-$200.
Which makes it not really a viable solution, normally better option is to buy a
new Epson MF Printer.
Especially when you have to travel from down south to Perth
