Hi Bill, Yes, I agree this has become too complex for you. You have third-party software installed on your system that is conflicting with Mavericks. You might find you need to go back and start again with a "Clean Install" of Mavericks. If you need a Mac Consultant for assistance, I recommend

Another way I forgot to mention to try is: Control-Click on the image of the PDF - Save Linked file to Downloads Also check you don't have AdobePDFViewer.plugin Look for the file: /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin and remove it. Ok I am out of here now, have a job I must go to. C
