I have a Late 2011 iMac 12,1 and have purchased modules to go from 8GB to 24GB
( thanks Daniel). Today I duly shut down, unplugged everything from the back
(including a struggle as always with the ethernet plug) and laid the Mac out
flat on a towel. Various of the online “how tos” list the
Hi Severin,
I have recently done this with no problems my iMac is slightly older 11,1
and I just followed the OWC video.
I don¹t remember exactly which screwdriver/bit I used but I do have quite an
assortment.
Since then I actually bought a 61 piece bit set (Bunnings special) that

Hi Severin,
If your iMac is 21.5 Model A1311 or 27 A1312 you can use a Phillips #2
screwdriver to loosen the three captive screws on the memory access door.
TURN them COUNTERCLOCKWISE
Then remove the memory access door and set it aside.
Cheers,

I made a mistake with my password when I tried to email a photo from iPhoto on
my MacBook Pro. How do I correct the error without deleting the email and
starting again from scratch?

Thank you,

Thanks, Ronni. All my reading came up with Phillips but unspecified size. I
suspected they might have been torx but definitely not. I will go back to my
selection and try again.
Best wishes and thanks

Hi Severin,
Remember that the screws are captive - they only loosen, they remain with the
cover - so it won't be noticeable that they are unscrewed until the cover comes
off.
I purchased many years ago and still use today, a Newer Technology 11-piece
Portable Toolkit which includes:

I realise they are captive screws but in my case to date they are immovable!
That sounds like a neat, useful little kit. I think I have most of those items

I see that that Newer Tech kit is now 14 pieces

Hi Michael,
Did you receive a message The email server didn’t recognize your

Keep in mind, the error you see, is not coming from Apple, or your computer.
It is coming from your email address server. If it states your user name or

Good advice Ronni but I believe my problem has been unsuitable screwdriver
rather than seriously stuck screws. The physical problem to take the iMac in
to T4 is off putting!

Hi Severin
Sorry to hear you haven't been able to get to the RAM yet.
One thing I sometimes find with the screws on the RAM door (especially they
haven't been moved for a while), is that using a slightly larger philips head
end, will actually pick up enough to move the screw.
And on some
I understand Severin.
Let's hope you find the correct screwdriver or I could send/lend one down to

Thanks Ronni,
The problem is that the dialogue box which asks for the email does not
reappear. If it did, I could put in the correct email. The only way to fix it
is to delete the draft email that iPhoto produces and start from scratch. I see
that as a quirk in iPhoto, in that it keeps
