In fairness to Westnet, My NBN connection was in the very early days... I was one of Westnet/iiNet first connections from ADSL to NBN. So yes, some mistakes were made in the early days and mine almost got me to file a 'Breach Of Contract' with them as they had failed to fulfill all of its contr

Thanks for that Ronni, it would be frustrating to find out they "loose" your phone number and that is enough to put people off it. It should be military precision as this is their core business managing peoples affairs like this!   The jury is getting closer to a decis

Hi Peter, I have been on NBN Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) with Westnet/iiNet since April 2014. NBN Residential 8 Plan (100GB + 100GB) + 50/20Mbps + Fibre Phone)$74.95 + $19.95 = $94.90 mth. I chose Fibre Phone so I could keep my current landline phone number I have had for “Ever” ;-) After th

Yes, it is certainly a viable option - to do nothing. "ADSL1 Plus" is good enough for online streaming through Apple TV or Youtube so the only real benefit to go NBN is if downloading large files quickly is important to you.   Jury still out on this.

Thanks for that Susan, will review and consider. I am wary of quoted speeds when they say "up to 25Mbps" and the "up to" bit I see as an 'out' for them when you don't actually experience the quoted speed. So you have to up the ante and go to a faster plan. So the bargain priced service yo

Peter, it may be worthwhile to check out Whirlpool as well. We have Iinet NBN and didn't notice much change in speed from ADSL plus until we switched to the 100/50 plan. We live in Vic Park and the ADSL+ was very good indeed. We have FTTH, rather than FTTN, which may be a factor of where you li

Hi Peter, My ADSL with Westnet was great, but the NBN is way better. I am on the 50/20 plan and no complaints. Just remember that those speeds will depend on other user activity. Westnet advise of any down time well ahead and such times are often during off peak anyway. Very happy with Westnet

Hi muggers, I have been with Westnet for many years with an ADSL service and pretty bulletproof the whole time. Service has been good when it has been called upon so can't complain really. Recently NBN is installed in my street and is now available. I looked online and see there are 119 potentia
