So now have a bootable backup copy of my HD, plus a bootable copy of
TechTool Pro 5, both on the external USB drive, plus TechTool Pro 5
installed and running on the laptop.
All go.

So which link did you use for the Techtool download ?
There is a link supplied with the serial number ,
but a different link supplied at the foot for creating a bootable DVD
The DVD link is 758 Mb long will be about an hour and 30 for me.

last time I downloaded one of these bundles three of didnt work with
the keys and when I went on the forums
it turned out many people had problems with the keys...ended up with
only 9 of the 12 apps working.

Yep, it is good value. I look at it this way. I already own Parallels
version3. If I was to buy it locally (even from my supplier) the upgrade
price is $69.95. With this bundle I get a whole new app of Parallels, as
well as all the other ones!
