Problem sorted! Thank you Ronni for the Connection Doctor idea, which showed a red light. Luckily it wasn't as complicated in the end as keychains, incoming ports or SSL, 5 minute mail retrievals or any advanced settings. Our email address has always been @bigpond.net.au and our incoming
