I have a collection of MiniDiscs and Sony Players. Possible to
digitise/upload as audio in OS X.

Yes it is possible. The easiest way I found to do it (for a client that had
the same thing) was the Griffin USB iMic. They sell for about $69
A friend of mine has a sony minidisc player and collection of minidisks and
wants to get an iPod if he can convert his collection to MP3. He's not
terribly computer literate.
Anyone have any ideas/has done this?
