Tim, Tried the update - it is only suitable for 10.9. Reason. I am taking over a a job where the previous person used Pages, and he may have used a more recent version than iWork 08. (the PDF properties window doesn't tell me) Until I get the docs I do not know what version was used, so

Hi Bill, Hoping Pages is backward compatible. Backwards compatibility means that a newer version can open documents created with older versions, not the other way around. Pages 5 is for Mavericks. Pages 5 doesn’t have the same set of features as Pages 4. It also has a different file format.
