If you are using WAP then the cost is the same no matter what the connection speed (it is data transferred, Telstra works out to ~$11 per Mb) If you are using a straight phone connection then yes it is the time not the data. Most Carriers will spec 9600 as the max speed when sending data as an ana

What is the fastest mobile phone to transfer data? I am sitting here on Rottnest working for a client with my Tibook and a Nokia 6210 It is very slow. GSM mobiles max out at 9600 bps (very slow!), as that's all the standard can support. It's also connection based (like a dial-up modem). If
