Thanks David, Texedit, unlike TNEF, opened the attachment but it is not in any language I can read. I fave Word on my computer. It will not open winmail.dat The sender has saved the document in Word as .doc I suspect the problem is in the preferences in the email program she is using. She

Opening winmail.dat

Thanks Ronni, PROBLEM SOLVED WITH TNEF. That's a big help - I have downloaded TNEF and the winmail.dat files open up fine. I had explained the situation to them (client) and they have resent the file saying they have turned off Rich Text and are now sending in Plain Text but I am still ge

A client is sending me some photos but all I get as the attchment is a file winmail.dat (6.5 MB), the email is that size but I am unable to open the file winmail.dat (6.5 MB). I have had these before from Windows people but the worst thing is that it is the fault of APPLE or worst still MAIL
