To change lots of songs highlight the song at the top of the list you want to
change, then hold SHIFT and highlight the song at the bottom of the list.
This should select all the songs you want to change in that Gap.
Then right click and hit Get info”
From there you can change the

whilst get track names is sometimes greyed out.

Hi Darrel,
with get track names you need to highlight the files first. Go to Music, just
below Library, in the left hand column. Sort all the files by name. Locate the
untitled files probably called track 01 etc. Click on the first and holding
down the shift key click on the last in the list
Yes Eugene, and that is now my very problem; they mostly are my burnt cd's
from collection of Audio Cd's years ago.

I assume you have already used the tools already built into iTunes:
file/display duplicates
and
advanced/get track names
and while you are at it,
advanced/get album artwork
These all do what you asked fairly well.
