Bad Attitude in Mayberry

Neil brought up the Choir Robes/Church foundation/pool table episode and that one has had me thinking lately. As background, I'll admit my preference for the BW TAGS episodes and the fact that Aunt Bee (boy I'll probably get hate mail for this) has never been on of my favorite charactors.

Hey Harry Its all in fun. We love Mayberry so much that we want it to be a real world sometimes. Speaking of bad attitudes , yesterday my station aired the episode where Aunt Bee went off the deep end cuz Mr (Bilzby) had to move because the county was putting a highway through his property.

Hi Harry I have to agree with you about Aunt Bee. She hasn't been one of my favorite characters, but she's competing with Barney, Andy, Floyd, etc. and that's some stiff competition. Having said that, one of my favorite episodes is the Snake Oil Salesman and the reason it's a favorite

Not Singing in the Choir

Aunt Bee and childish behaviour

Harry, I agree with you completely. Although I love the episode for other elements of goodness, I too feel the ladies were being rather vain. When I sang in the church choir years ago, I too loved wearing those lovely robes; it was a special feeling. But to hold it over the congregation's

I agree with you Harry.  It was rather selfish of the choir ladies to threaten not to sing if they didn't get what they wanted.  The end scene with Aunt Bea smiling  has always upset me somewhat because her look is that of someone thinking, We won.  Not very church lady-like.    I also like the
