Lorenz curve and Gini coefficient
I went to Google to do a search on Lorenz curve and Gini coefficient. I
read the information given (not all of it), I still can't tell
you want it said. After reading the first two sentences my head
starting hurting. That will tell you I am not a mathematical
Neil brought up the Choir Robes/Church foundation/pool table episode and that
one has had me thinking lately. As background, I'll admit my preference for
the BW TAGS episodes and the fact that Aunt Bee (boy I'll probably get hate
mail for this) has never been on of my favorite charactors.
Hey Harry Its all in fun. We love Mayberry so much that we want it to be a real
world sometimes.
Speaking of bad attitudes , yesterday my station aired the episode where Aunt
Bee went off the deep end cuz Mr (Bilzby) had to move because the county was
putting a highway through his property.
I never could remember that rule.
Mc before Mac in McDonald and McBeevey and Mac is Irish and Mc is Scottish.
Now I bet if I asked Otis Irish or Scotch he would definitely say
Scotch.

Hi Harry
I have to agree with you about Aunt Bee. She hasn't been one of my favorite
characters, but she's competing with Barney, Andy, Floyd, etc. and that's some
stiff competition.
Having said that, one of my favorite episodes is the Snake Oil Salesman and the
reason it's a favorite
If we don't get our robes, we'll no longer sing.
We will not sing! We will not sing! We will not sing!
Hey - is there a common?theme here? In the episode where Mr. Frisbee was
getting evicted, the ladies refused to sing too. How many other times did
someone refuse to sing? Gomer refused
Harry, I agree with you completely. Although I love the episode for other
elements of goodness, I too feel the ladies were being rather vain. When I
sang in the church choir years ago, I too loved wearing those lovely robes;
it was a special feeling. But to hold it over the congregation's

the aesthetic importance of the church; churches have survived on faith and
hymns and joyous occasions; their survival is not dependent on whether they

I agree with you Harry. It was rather selfish of the choir ladies to threaten
not to
sing if they didn't get what they wanted. The end scene with Aunt Bea smiling
has always upset me somewhat because her look is that of someone thinking,
We won. Not very church lady-like.
I also like the
I can think of all TAGS character last names with the exception of one. What
is Thelma Lou's last name?If i have heard it, I must be having a senior
moment. Thanks for your help.
Someone else will probably answer this, too, but we are never told Thelma Lou's
last name. For whatever reason,
Perhaps her actual name was Thelma Lu, and she had some Asian ancestry?

My husband and I visited Mount Airy for the first time this past Sunday and
Monday. It is everything we expected and more.
The highlight of our trip came on Sunday morning when we saw Betty Lynn at
church. We did not speak to her because we did not want to disturb her.
Just seeing her was
First things first, I saw a comment on TvLand's airing of some new show coming
soon. Well I would like to point out that, TvLand announced TvLand PRIME and
brought on shows such as Scrubs, Cosby, 3rd Rock from the Sun and Just Shoot
Me. Well the last I looked Cosby and an occassional airing of
1. How do you watch TAGS?
a) through television stations only (TV Land, TBS, WGN, local stations) or
tvland.com
b) through the official Paramount DVDs, public domain episode DVDs, or VHS
tapes
c) both( More DVD then TvLand though.)
2. For those who watch on DVD/VHS, how do you choose
TAGS fans,
I'm enjoying watching the second season of Matlock. It's fun to catch the
little TAGS phrases and the occasional TAGS guest star, but the more I watch
Ben Matlock the less he seems like Andy Taylor. I guess that's the actor of
the man!

OK, I can't resist this. Gini coefficient is where that blonde manicurist
comes out of a bottle and bobs her head around to make things happen,
right? I went to school with Ernest T. Bass. . .
