(Ben Weaver) was in BOTH shows! In one, he was a bad guy and in the other he
was a banker. Then saw Alan Hale Jr. as a small town sheriff and his deputy
was another fellow from TAGS...Ross Elliott who was in The T
One of my favorite modern shows is "American Pickers" on The History Channel.
For those who haven't seen it, it's a show about two antique dealers
who "travel the backroads of America" searching through barns and basements and
junkyards looking for interesting stuff.

Everytime I visit the Downtown Cinema in Mt. Airy, NC during Mayberry Days, I
wonder what films Andy viewed there in the 1930s and 1940s. He was astounded by
musician Jack Teagarden in 'Birth of the Blues' (1944), which he saw at
