While watching some Dennis the Menace episodes via Netflix/Roku streaming feed, I saw little Ron Howard in two different episodes. Opie played a character named Stuart who was one of the neighborhood kids and a friend of Dennis. Cool!

I'm surprised that the first one to come to my mind hasn't been mentioned. William Christopher, best known as Father Mulcahy on MASH. He portrayed a doctor and an IRS agent on TAGS, but was one of Gomer's marine buddies. If I recall correctly, his character's name was Hummel.

In regaurds to what happen to Ellie Walker, I once heard that she complained that Andy was to hard to get along with on the set so if that is true they probably just eased her out... just like Barney not one to start rumors , Mike from Indiana.
