Regarding that young whippersnapper Paul's trivia question, here are a few
this old guy thunk up.
Old Man Kelsey
Old Man Rimshaw
The German soldier Old Hugo Hopfleisch
I am sure there are more, but the dang temperature was way below zero here
this morning and we had a wind chill of -40. I
My wife put a warm compress on my head and thawed out my brain cells so I
was able to come up with a couple more possible Old Man answers. I know
Andy and Opie sang about Old Dan Tucker. And I think maybe Barney or Andy
may have referred to Mr. Macabe as Old Man Macabe, but that is just a guess
I was watching tv today and saw an ad for a new show. It's titled Gotham.
It has a character named Harvey Bullock. Wasn't a real life man with that name
associated with The Andy Griffith Show?
If at first you don't succeed, try and hide your astonishment.
Opie's signature can be seen in one other episode too. Who can describe the
scene?
You must be referring to the love note Opie wrote to Helen Crump. That
appeared in Season 5, Opie Loves Helen.

I stopped in at our bank yesterday to make a deposit. There was a new

So here is the challenge:
I work at a local elementary school and today is a snow day or rather
a very cold day ( -18 wind chill). Still get excited about snow days!
When I was a kid, I loved it when I could stay in my warm bed after Mom
announced there was no school due to the weather! So what does one do on
snow
Being from the south, we didn't have many snow days but when we did they
were spent sledding, making snow men, snowball fights and I save the best
for last - snow cream. I never knew anybody that got hurt sledding like
they 'say' they are now. I guess we were smarter that our phones back
then.
Don't worry David, we'll give it the Big Freeze.
Ken, I, too, have run into younger folks who wouldn't recognize Barney Fife
from Max Klinger. Reminds me of the time about 15 years ago, our extended
family was sitting around at my mother's home. Some of us were talking about
