about your childhood experiences around Christmas. My family and I were
fortunate to live in Germany for 3 years, but we never made it to Oberndorf,
Austria, where Stille Nacht (Silent Night) was written. I
farm when I was 10 years old. The annual prickly
cedar Christmas tree in our humble home, cut from Mr. Fletcher's
pasture, was now able to twinkle with a small string of electric lights
of multiple colors. There were only 7 bulbs on this one string --
that's all we could afford

I thought I would share some wonderful Christmas/Winter memories from a 70
year old who grew up in a very small midwestern town back in the 50's.
It is almost 11 p.m. and I just came in from shoveling three inches of

I enjoyed watching the TAGS Christmas show. The color did look
different such as the brick around the cells.
I did make one observation regarding a calendar hanging in a cell. When
Andy and Ellie were singing, the camera panned to the cell window to

We always went to my paternal grandparents on Christmas Eve, had Christmas
morning at home as a family and spent Christmas afternoon my maternal
grandparents. They were the ones that lived in clear sight of Pilot Mountain
(I am talking about the mountain, not the town here). I could always
