I don't see it as strange the drugstore was open on Sunday. People need
medicine every day of the week and it had to come from somewhere.
In my hometown up in Virginia, the drugstore was open on Sunday, and people
would stop on the way home from church to pick up a newspaper, get an ice
cream

usually open on Sunday mornings so the folks could stop in on their way home
