I enjoy watching Season 2 of Gomer Pyle when I have a little time to spare.
This week I saw a good Episode with Gomer endearing himself to a General's
little girl with his child-like qualities. It featured TAGS veterans Amzie
Strickland (Miss Rosemary & Home-buyer) as the girl's Nanny, and
I just watched Aunt Bee visiting Gomer at Camp Henderson! The episode was
from 1967 and I don't recall ever seeing it before. We have a local
Christian network that shows Gomer and other decent retro shows and he comes
on just before TAGS on TVLand. Such a joy!!

night. One of the episodes I caught was "Gomer and the Dragon Lady," and while
watching, I discovered a special tip of the hat to Don Knotts.

This stirred me up. My dad came over and I was watching Gomer Pyle season 1 on
DVD. When all of the sudden he said once Gomer was put on TV all the best
writers went to that show and therefore TAGS went downhill after this. I am
only 39 so I wasn't around then to argue with him. So I knew all

the next four seasons on DVD eventually. I want to hear Jim Nabors'

enjoying it because I really never got into the show. The sweet thing about
this set is we get commentary by Jim Nabors. It also has the TAGS "Gomer
Pyle USMC" Pilot on disc one. Jim gets us commentary through

Watched the Gomer Pyle, USMC pilot on dvd with
commentary last night. Jim Nabors had many nice
things to say about the actors and characters from
TAGS. He mentioned how calm and laid back Don Knotts
was in real life, and how it was the complete opposite
of his "nervous guy"
I share Mike Creech's sentiments about 'Gomer Pyle USMC' being released on
DVD as well as TAGS' season eight both on the same day, December 12. (That's
going to be $64.00 debit day at the local WAL-MART). I hope that Paramount
subsequently releases the entire
Season one of GOMER PYLE, USMC will be released on DVD December 12, 2006!
It's not yet known if there will be any extra's, but it is known that all 30
episodes of the first season is included. I can only think of one thing to
say, SHAZAM!!!

There are no plans at this time, but who knows what will happen in the
