My wife and I watched the last episode of Season 4 the other day (Gomer joins
the Marines) and she pointed out something I never seemed to pay any
attention to before: When Gomer enters the Sheriff's office singing "From the

While watching Gomer sing the other day, my husband asked me 'how did he
learn to sing like that.' Some of the other singers on the show have formal
training. I looked up Jim Neighbors on Wikipedia and it did not show any
formal training in his back ground.
