I hate to disagree with the sheriff, but I believe I like "Our State" even more
than the Geographic. I'm even willing to pay more than a quarter for it.

The second article deals with the 70 greatest places to eat when you're on the
go in North Carolina.
Mt.Airy has three of the top 70 vittles joints.
Our very own Mt. Airy football team has advanced to the third round in the
NCHSAA playoff brackets.
No word yet on the Mayberry Bears season.

that Mt.Airy is home to the worlds largest open-face granite quarry.I have seen
it and it is quite
large.Mt.Airy is referenced a couple of times as Mayberry.Local townspeople

My wife & I have tickets to four events at Maybery Days.Hopefully I will be
able to meet
some of you fine folks in person at one of these venues.
In addition,I will be judging at the pie eating contest and helping with the

Hi one and all.Me,my wife,and three grand young'uns(yes,I'm from the
South)spent Monday and Tuesday in Mt.Airy.
A good time was had by all.We have been many times,but it was a first for the
kids.They were blown away that nearly
every store sold something that was Mayberry related.
