I adore my Epson it rocks!, and I will *never* buy HP again.
My installation CD died on my HP scanner, and they did not have the
drivers available on their site.
I contacted HP and they told me that the only way I could get the
drivers is if the scanner is still under warranty!
Fool me once,
thanks Tracy - that really helps! I'm now off to google on epson scanners

anyone else got a suggestion?

Try asking a few people who are responsible for looking after scanners what
the scanner is and where they got it.
If they can instantly tell you that it's a Brand X and that they got it
from Dealer Y, that probably means that they are continually calling Dealer

I recall hearing about a website that you can go to
and download manuals you've lost (I think for just
about anything - not just computers).
Does any one know what the URL is and if it's still in
existance?
I'm looking in particular for the Aiptek HyperPen

I've got a Canon LIDE 30 which I really like. Works great on both the PC and
the Mac (even OS X). Best of all from my point of view is it is small, thin
enough to fit where I need it to go in my computer desk. I see from the
Canon website that they have a newer version out the LIDE 50 as well. See

Just letting you know I almost missed your reply as it showed up amongst

I knew my current scanner was a Canon but had to go look at it to get the

I've had several different brands over the years and so far this Canon LIDE

Thanks for the code. Re Opera button, I didn't forget, I haven't
found one. If you have one, send it my way and I'll be glad to
put it there.
