The 2.0 source intimidates me a bit, because of the growth of the
codebase, apr, and the various worker modules. The 1.3 sour
ors do not relish constantly having to write special
wrappers for non-standard daemons.

generic jobs of speaking a lingo, and associate each lingo-job
with a list of socket addresses; that addresses the first point,
