1. "It's a service with other service." I don't know what that means. Are you running it on a virtual machine? If not, what is the hardware? 2. Is this a serial-to-USB bridge? 3. Even though you rebooted, the logs should still be available. Unless, of course, this is a transient virtual machine.

There are many things that can cause an "Errno 5" error. A few questions: 1. What kind of computer? A Raspberry Pi? 2. How is your VP2 connected to the computer? Serial connection? USB? 3. Check the tips in the Users Guide under *Davis CP2101 Converter Problems
