The categories of Commons are in and off themselves useful to a very limited extend. Associating the images they refer to with existing items in Wikidata is one way in which they may be useful. As it is, because of naming conventions and the use of English only, the categories are pretty lame.

Hey folks :) Yesterday we deployed new code. This includes among other things bugfixes for: * auto-comment parameter when creating redirects (bug 69750) * link to badge items pointing to the wrong site (bug 69758) In addition you now also get suggestions when adding a qualifier or a reference.
