If we want to build up our image library of lost monuments then WLM is
perhaps not the best place to start. Rather than a photo hunt for what is
available today we need a hunt through attics for things available from the
past. Much was destroyed in the war, and quite a bit since. Even where

Hi there,
I thank Platonides' for starting a thread about creating a list of
monuments that were destroyed in the past two months; credit goes also
to Emijrp, who's [[Wikipedia:There is a deadline]] directly inspired
this idea.

Just as a matter of PR... Personally I don't like the 'fear' message very
much: we have to photograph because the building might burn down. Basically
because it is a very negative and pessimist message which doesn't carry

Hello,
In the Netherlands there luckily are no destructions/disasters which destroyed
more then one (or a few) monuments. But also without these many monuments get

Hi Platonides,
this is a great idea, but requires much work; we'd probably need to
make a crowd-sourcing effort to get at least a small list of such
objects. As far as I remember, Emijrp wrote a great essay on the
subject last year, so we'll only need to add the list.
I see that the Global Heritag
I was wondering if somebody had (or was willing to prepare) a list of
monuments around the world that could have been photographed

I think it would make for a great piece of news for release during the

It needs some fix-ups. For example you only point to the upload wizards from

Hawaii don't follow daylight saving time, like New York, thus the difference is
6 hours in winter and 5 in summer. Just to be sure:

Hi Rexford,
Ghana is not listed there with a link because I haven't been able to find a
website for WLM Ghana where it is very clear for participants how to
participate in the relevant local language(s) - in your case English I
believe. As soon as that is available, I'm happy to add it.

Hi Peter,
I have updated the start and end times for the US, thanks for the information.
I am not sure how the unused images pages work, so I'll leave it for
somebody else (Maarten?) to answer.
Thanks,

As I understand it, the Panamese monuments áre now in the database. There
seems to be a specific problem for Panama about displaying them in the app.
They are trying to figure out why.
