Processing 100,000 images in a fair and meaningful way is not going to be easy. Doing it with minimal IT won't help. My suggestion is that you try a category based system using hidden categories. Start all 100,000 in a category Images submitted to WMUS 2012, then allow anyone to review them by

Hi, Geograph is not a contest (it is a project, but you can't win something with it afaik), so we don't have to worry about that. The Guinness Book of World Records has a number in the 120k as the largest - we definitely beat that. We had 168k by the way, not 188k. The only contest that I know

Well last year we got between 160.000 and 170.000. The world record for photo competition with highest amount of pictures was a japanese contest with between 126.521 pictures from 40.784 contestants (can we beat this 40.000 number? Last year we got 5000, so this year 10-15.000 seems realistic)
