All,
As quoted in the article;
Consumers are going beyond simple emails or Web
surfing, and moving into music and movie downloads. But that kind of
activity requires more
bandwidth, and is driving the migration to faster service.

Hey Guys;
I'm planning to use a Valemount Star OS type system in my WISP start up, and have just a few questions:
My network design uses aCisco 1750 router, Cisco 2950 switch to plug up to 4 base radio's into (Whoa ...16 antennas), Radius server, Sniffer, and a www server for my Intranet
Assuming you are talking WAR board platform V3, the boards already come
licensed, so no extra cost and you can populate from 1 to 4 cards per board.
As for configuring the boards, yes, you have to configure the boards to
your needs. And I thought that Lonnie had a storefront and sold singles.
I
And, I have two of the WAR 533mhz boards for sale cheap on Ebay. Search
on WAR 533mhz. :)

Hi,
This really isn't that hard. Put a fully manageable switch in front of
your backbone router to the internet and mirror the port(s). Done.
We do this already to gather stats and find infected customers.

Net Neutrality to me means preventing the large backbone providers
(ATT, etc.) from deciding whose packets will be allowed to use the
Internet and how much extra it will cost to use the Internet, assuming
that you are allowed to use it. Packets from sites can be (as I
understand it) not just
I haven't seen any of the technical specifications that this would
call for. Sure, easy enough to mirror a port.
Are the requirements just that? So that law enforcement can come plug
in and 'tap' your network? Or do they require access from anywhere so
that they can, at any instance get that
While I agree with the basic concept of net neutrality, I wonder what
will happen with IPTV-VOD and the stress it puts on a broadband
providers network.
If there is any application that I can think of that changes the rules
of net neutrality it would be IPTV. I understand some will say you

I'd like to know as well how it performs and their success rate. It's
been out awhile now.
I do know that Navini and Vivato were supposed to be

I think the techniques are great ideas, wish I could get some smart
antennas to work with an atheros card.

Hi Ron
I don't know much except what has come across these list since the stuff
came out.
I seem to recall a couple of wisps saying they've installed them and
being successful. I don't recall that they were very fast at all.
Some of the municipalities have deployed them, I think maybe
I did just send an inquiy in for their new unlicensed wimax product due

Hi,
The flip side is that you are selling a customer a connection. That is
how YOU are making your money... why do you care what they run over it?
Does it matter if it's IPTV or doing an FTP file transfer?
However, I really don't think this is going to affect the smaller
operators. This
It seems like it is time to bill by the packet.
Or at least by groups of packets as in 2 Gigs for $39.
Many clients don;t like this kind of billing, but it is likely the only
way you can do anything about IPTV.
If you have sold someone a 384k unmetered connection, and they decide to
If Google wants to be faster, let them buy more T-3s or more peering, or
whatever-don't screw with packet priority...
