[WISPA] Mixing 2.4GHz and 900MHz Gear

2007-02-11 Thread Jim Stout
Folks, I am getting interest from potential-customers that do not have direct LOS to my antennae. I'm thinking about adding 900MHz capability to my tower but wanted to see what kind of gotchas I should look be aware of. I'm currently running a 2.4GHz Omni with Horizontal polarity. I'm

The WISP next door to me is running 900MHz and 2.4GHz from the same RB532 at a couple of sites. He is doing well with both. The only thing he has found is a bandpass filter is critical. He makes 2 miles through 50% woods, I think. Jim Stout wrote: Folks, I am getting interest from poten

What bandpass filter is he using, and how much do they cost? Thanks George Scott Reed wrote: The WISP next door to me is running 900MHz and 2.4GHz from the same RB532 at a couple of sites. He is doing well with both. The only thing he has found is a bandpass filter is critical. He makes 2

What's he using for radios? Ubiquiti SR9s and SR2s? Where does the bandpass filter go? I'm currently using Mikrotik's Router OS for bandwidth provisioning and have been very happy with the product. I'll be feeding Tranzeo CPEs with this AP. Thanks for the help! Jim Stout LTO Communicatio

I think he has a Ubiquiti cavity filter. Pushing $300, I think. George Rogato wrote: What bandpass filter is he using, and how much do they cost? Thanks George Scott Reed wrote: The WISP next door to me is running 900MHz and 2.4GHz from the same RB532 at a couple of sites. He is doing well

MT532 with SR9 and CM9 or SR2. I think it is CM9, but he is planning to move to SR2. His filters are at the antenna end of the cable, top of tower. Jim Stout wrote: What's he using for radios? Ubiquiti SR9s and SR2s? Where does the bandpass filter go? I'm currently using Mikrotik's Router O

[WISPA] Site Survey

2007-02-11 Thread Brian Rohrbacher
I always keep my eyes peeled looking for a better way to do site surveys than dragging my laptop and a CPE around to every site. http://www.ubnt.com/super_range_cardbus.php4 Anyone think that would do the trick for .11b site surveys? Some of you use palms, don't you? Brian -- WISPA Wireless List
