For MMOs I can see. For a racing game, no. The graphics are the bulk of
data so I wonder what the update includes.

I have seen new games require massive downloads. Thanks for the heads up. Have
not seen an Xbox do
Have you played a game in the past few years? It's not atypical for there to be
20 - 30 gigabyes on the disc and updates to be several gigs. I know that and
I've played like one game in the past year.
Communications is way far behind of where it should be.

A 6 gig update? Is the game even on the disk you buy?

The Xbox is never really off. There are ALWAYS two things running - the
kinect thing and updates. It may look off but the boards with those
responsibilities are running silently.
I would guess updates as well. Ps3 was big so Xbox is probably twice as
much.

That's what the subject says.
I think downloading new games that are stored locally instead of on disc is a
lot more common on the latest generation consoles. I'd expect 10GB to 30 GB
downloads.

I don't know about the Xbox One specifically but I have read some of these
new consoles have large (500MB+) day one updates.

pulled his connection he was streaming the full 3 meg. I had him power off the
