You could push more, but not much bandwidth. We have cat-5 and cat-6 runs
going 400+ feet up a tower linked at 100meg. You won’t be able to get a
1000M connection out of it though.

Not a very smart idea, but if the optical product was the same price then
that sounds like a bad purchasing decision.
