Normally you stack by sections using a gin pole. It is very dangerous to
stack

We had it refurbished by a truck center near her, and it is up to NFPA
standards on the ladder operation
does not work anymore, but we only use it for
vertical real estate.

A snorkel is a bucket truck that is used to get above the fire and spray
water down on the fire.
It is a diesel and the boss says six miles to the gallon.
You will need a commercial driver's license with air brakes
certification. It is a specialty truck to be sure, you aren't going to
good deals out there.

You are correct. A lot of states used to have chauffers licenses, but now
the CDL (starting in mid 80's) specified weight limits. The only exemption
is government vehicles (like fire trucks). It was the way to grandfather
all the volunteer firemen.
