Hey, Jamileh, Ben and Bill !
I found out that there isn't any problem to insert a pdf file into a
column with datatype text (than xmbyte) in MSSQL 2000 and read it out
again. But only if you do it with a tool like VB. We have tried it and
we get exactly the same binary data out including the null
I
have been trying to use this, have searched the archives and can not really find a solution. I am using T2K and win2k. I assign
the variabletimeouttrigger as:
@assign scope=User
name=variableTimeoutTrigger value=http://@domain@var
More info about pdf/MSSQL.
I made a small taf that from serverside read a pdf file (file action)
and updated my data column in the db.
Then I read out the data from VB and the pdf data is correct with nulls
and all but not if I read it from Witango.
So it's only when reading a blob with Witango

Hey Bengt!
Yes, it seems to be a MSSQL/Witango combination - Bill (and others) say it works fine
with MySQL. Your experience matches mine - you can work with binary files in MSSQL if
you use M$ tools, but not with Witango.
Did you see Ben's suggestion about using MySQL just for the binary

It may be worthwhile to pay one of the server oriented people

old license and you would end up with a working W5 server. :)

There could be many reasons, can you be

Is there anything on the page or is it
just blank?
Are you using search args with a variable
and the variable is not properly scoped so that it I gets stepped on by others?
How many users, could they be exceeding the

Hey Buddy,
browsers are finicky POS's!! (sorry,
I'mhaving problems with browsers at the moment too)
some browsers work, some dont...
some pass the arguments from forms you tell them to

sometimes they dont.

Buddy,

Hi
i have the same probleme with a chat made with witango5. Sometimes the
user have a blank page on explorer 6 or else, we search the reason a
long time, but we finaly accepted this reason : the connection failled
or was slower, and at the same time the browser is in full memory. user
Ok,
you can do a couple of things if it is a timing issue.
1. go to the configuration folder of the witango server folder
and update the clients.ini and a the following line to each section
CLIENTIOTIMEOUT=300 (default value is 300 seconds)
example
[wiis.dll]
WITANGO_SERVER=127.0.0.1,18100
thanks ben
1- our clients.ini doesn't have this line CLIENTIOTIMEOUT=300 (is it
because it's the mac osx version?)
in the witango.ini, the querytimeout is 600, but no CLIENTIOTIMEOUT
again on it.
2 - this page is not in relation with a database, but a big array

Hi,
The CLIENTIOTIMEOUT=300 is a new and soon to be documented ;-) feature
of Witango 5 Server, I just recently found this out myself.
300 is the default
If you are processing a large array with a loop you could use push at
intervals or you might look into using server-side javascript to process
Ok, I guess it is documented in the WASWhatsNew.pdf available from
Witango.com
Addition of CLIENTIOTIMEOUT
A new client configuration variable has been introduced to control how
long the client waits for the server
to respond with either the result HTML or any intermediate requests such

First I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. I will give them a try tomorrow.
I'm not using any java on the page. The blank page (nothing on page at all) appearing
is consistent with 1 pc. I've had this complaint from other trying to apply last year.

Bill,
I had a problem with the datasource timing out and causing the server to
hang for a minute or two. I changed my datasource timeout to 24 hours.
This was hapening every 30 minutes. This does not sound like the same
problem. I fixed it by increasing the datasource timeout in the Tango ini
