The 0x80002 errors sound just like the mysterious issue we were trying to hunt down that doesn't show up on all machines. It seems files are getting deleted out of the working folder before we have a chance to move them to the secure cache. Can't see anything in our code doing that so we're wonderi

I have 6 pre requisite MSI's then my 2 product MSI's... I want to ensure that the pre req's don't want to reboot so the rest of the MSI's fail... here is the scenario, I have my product installed, you goto ARP or PF and click uninstall, burn comes up and I click on Repair... One of the pre requis

My experience with this is that it works better when you make the service a feature, hidden if necessary. The issue is that things like repairs will need you to preserve the property state otherwise you'll do a repair or add a feature and the property will have the wrong value. Plus if it is a feat

Can you roll your 2008 VM back to a clean state before you installed either the patch or the product and reproduce the error ? We're far from certain but it could be a corrupted patch cache or something on the machine that has touched the files somehow after caching. Have you also tried creating
