Depends on the repo and on your stuff.
You can still download the deb files you are interested in and
install them using `dpkg

I loved the feature in gnome with compiz fusion to be able to grid
things, that is...
cntrl+alt+numpad key would move windows to various parts of the screen
and sizes. I still tend to do that out of habit because it was so nice
