Could we use Shift Double Click to do the same as Double-Click but without the

Yes, I totally agree with the skepticism on the decode, which is why I
figured I should report it. That said, I'd send you the file, but the
list of .wav files in the save directory goes from 170924_, when I
last used r8118, to 170926_, when I went back to r8118. The time

Don’t forget that every split QSO takes up twice the bandwidth too. :)

Ed,
How does every caller moving to the TX frequency of a CQing station with a
double click REDUCE QRM? That INCREASES QRM. The station that sent CQ is now
faced with multiple callers, and as a result often NOTHING is decoded. This
wastes time. Then when he finally picks out a station, he is fac
Ed,
I thought it was a bug too, but it was explained that it was often
desirable to set up a qso by calling even though the is another caller...it
lets people get in line and speeds up the operation. Of course, it clutters
the band a bit too.

Another thing I've noticed, is that disabling TX also disables the auto
sequence (perhaps also the signal report detection?), so preparing by
disabling TX creates some hassle if the station answers you. One could

Bill,
Thanks for your comment!
When I am trying to work a DX station, I generally call him or her on their
calling frequency the first time and then if I do not get a response, I move
the Tx frequency off of his or her calling frequency and try a couple of more
times (assuming multiple CQs).

FWIW, I can confirm the same problem with r8123. JTAlert does receive data
from WSJT-X, but WSJT-X does doesn’t respond to a double click on a CQ in
JTAlert 2.10.1.

Hello Ed-
I find the feature of continuing to transmit "if split" to be handy as I
usually call DX split to avoid all the QRM associated with a DX station.
Sometimes several calls are necessary to hook up with a DX station. Also
helps to get on a "Q" list with the DX station.

Thanks for the comment!
Although it may be a feature, I found myself causing QRM several times
yesterday when I was working FT8 split and some station did not answer me. It
might not be as much a problem with JT65 or JT9 when there are approximately 10
seconds to react and disable Tx manu
That's a feature, not a bug, i.e., intentional

Wolfgang,
I did not receive the UDP error message but I shut down both WSJT-X and JTAlert
several times as you suggested below and still do not have UDP communication
from JTAlert to WSJT-X. In fact, there was no communication from WSJT-X to
JTAlert until I restarted both several times.

Hello Ed,
first start of r8123 and JTAlert showed a UDP error.
Closed both (needed the task manager), started r8123 solo,
closed again and started r8123 and JTAlert one after the other.
r8123 does not show any errors again, UDP communication is OK,
both packages doing what they are supposed to d
Although it is not new to r8123, I have noticed that when I call a station and
someone else is also calling him or her and that calling station does not
answer me, Tx is not disabled when the Tx frequency is offset from the receive
frequency. If the Tx and Rx frequencies are the same, Tx is disa
I built r8123 this morning and was pleased to see that double-clicking on a
station calling CQ moves both the Tx and Rx frequencies to that of the caller.
Although I can appreciate the comments of some of my colleagues suggesting that
only the Rx frequency be moved, I believe that moving both is
