If a transmissions starts on an interval, and I immediately interrupt it,
(what's left of) that interval does not decode. If I click the decode
button, I get the following error:

This is on wsjtx 1.9.0-rc4 under Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit.
The TX watchdog is set to its default value of 6 minutes, yet it called CQ
for 10 minutes straight, until I manually disabled transmit. I wasn't
using the computer during that time.

Forgive me if I'm not following procedure; this is my first message to the
list. If there's another way I should go about this I'd ask you point me
in the right direction.
I've noticed that if I try to disable transmission by clicking the 'Enable
TX' button to disable it, and it happens a
