Hi George ...
What's wrong with signal reports... lots of us like to know how well we are
getting out.
I also like contesting and appreciate the shorter exchange of contest more when
contesting. I've also seen this mode used by FFMA 6m grid chasers (myself
included). All well and good.
Hi, Al ...
I found that the contest mode log window can be sorted on various fields,
ascending or descending order. Sorting newest QSO first and looking at the
boootm will give QSO count. Sorting by callsign will show dups. Sorting by
grids will show which grids are already worked (for
and slight sensitivity reduction.
On the other hand, unshaped keying is easy to tone convert accurately. Glad to
hear that the microwave modes are continuing to use unshaped keying.
73,
Mike

I read that FT4, FT8, FST4, FST4W use Gaussian FSK.
Is it correct that all the other modes use unshaped keying?
Specifically, does Q65 use gaussian or unshaped keying?
Thanks,

I agree that the "Fake IT" split option should help the harmnic problem and should be emphazied. Is there any reason that "Fake It" should NOT be made the default mode for any split mode capable rig? Making it the default would help clean up our waterfalls. Sent from XFINITY Connect Mobile

needed... I'd prefer that it stay available (at least in the drop down), so
that it can be repeated or edited for use in the next message. This may be
because the only free form slot right now is the "73" slot and the program
assumes that the QSO is over after
For the second hour, I (CM87) was in the skip zone of the AZ fox (DM43), so the
only time that I copied him (weakly) was when he called CQ on single frequency;
nothing else hear, presumably due to power drop when using multi-freqs...
perhaps the program should reduce power when using on
and, of course, both ends of the QSO would use the same non-standard tone
spacings.
(I'm not trying to run a standard train on narrow gauge tracks :)

True/false?
In WSJT-X, the sound card sample rate is always 48000 Hz and 16 bits,
regardless of the mode (JT4, JT9, ISCAT, JT65, FT8, etc) selected?
The protocol descriptions mention 11025 and 12000 sample rates for various
modes, so I can assume that the sample rates are converted within
It appears that when the fox gets busy, its response can be greatly delayed,
which leads to wasted extra calls from the hounds trying for a roger from the
fox.
As others mentioned, perhaps the fox should give rogers higher priority than
signal reports to newer hounds.
