PCLinuxOS is an excellent distro - I'm trying Test Release3 which is the
latest one but
PCLinuxOS 2007 isn't released at time of this writing.. (I looked..just) .

Never heard of it. There are a _lot_ of different Linux
distributions. If they are fairly standard and have full
development support, you should be able to get it compiled.
