I think i’ve found the issue.  I usually work with Photoshop. It shows the offending texture as a RGB file and displays it ok. Then I’ve tried to open it in Gimp and the file is not displayed correctly and says it’s an indexed color file. So i exported the file from Photoshop as a PNG for the web
