What version of xCAT are you using? Are there service nodes involved? Which network are planing to use for deploying the nodes, 10 or 172? Did you run makedhcp -n and makeshcp -a? Have you put the node's ip in /etc/hosts? Did you run makedns? Can you show us the output of lsdef ? Thanks, Ling G

Unfortunately there's no network driver for virtio. After I rebuilt Genesis with the network driver everything worked fine. I followed a bug report that was submitted about this exact issue, looks like xCAT 2.10 will include the virtio network driver by default. Thanks for following up on this
