I have been having the same problem. I have tried ant versions 1.3.1, 1.4.0 and
1.4.1 (and the ant that is shipped with
Xindice) on RH Linux 7.2 and Java 1.3.1 and 1.4 beta. No luck with any of them.
This is all against the latest cvs. I

changed in the newer ant builds. Did you try building with the ant that
comes with the server?

dirname ./bin
/usr/xerces/xerces.
