All you want to do is clear out the smtprelay.tab file and the only way
to send (relay) messages to domains that aren't on your server is by
authenticating. You don't want to enable authentication on all smtp
connections because other servers won't be able to send mail to your

Versions are XMAIL 1.12 on a NT 4. Just for testing I use a file

Someone asked about this awhile back, I find a listing on a tools site, if
you run the RBL check against your domain or etc, you can find a list of
them.

but...
If I echo 97, the mail is not discarded as I thought it would be.
Is the response from the script expected from STDOUT?

I don't think echo 97 is what you want. You want the exit code to be 97.
I can't remember how to do that in a batch file, maybe exit 97 without
the quotes.
