You need glide 2 (libglide2x.so), and not glide 3 which is the most
recent one. One more caveat: If you're using XFree86 4 in DRI mode, the
xfx driver won't work

Do you have a voodoo2? IIRC, vith voodoo3 and later you can't
compile/use xmame.xfx. Someone can correct me?

Yep I have a Voodoo 3 and also Xfree 4.2.
It really irks me that my mame performance in windows
is much better than Linux using xmame.x11. And in
windows I don't need a special verions (sorry I
brought this up on the list before).
I would think the major video issue would be pixel blitting. And

Is that in windowed mode or fullscreen DGA? We might be able to speed up
the win

You could also try with the dga version (some security issue dealing
with suid bit, take care =), and you can also check if the MTRR is
correctly activated...

Is Linux game dev die really? Some day ago I sent to a italian newsgroup
my request for comment about the game dev in Linux, but most programmers
had a bad opinion because of Linux has not market. What about do you
