In current dual-head mapping scheme, DVI port is always treated as the
primary head (first screen, using CRTC) if a monitor (whether a
The 'X' cursor is OK but when the arrow pointer appear

This bug appear in all windowmanagers (KDE, GNOME, wmaker...)
I tested it with the resolutions 640x480 and 1024x768,
XFree86 4.2.0, Slackware 8.1, and my video card is the
onboard SiS 5598.

Not sure about the AIW DV's, as I've only tried it on the 'regular' 8500.
You may want to post the /var/log/XFree86.0.log and perhaps it will shed
some light on why your cannot do higher res. Perhaps your Monitor section
has too restrictive HorizSync/VertRefresh values.

The code used in microwindows is almost the same as in fbdev.c
I've modified fbdevPutColors, so as to have a palette with "all green", and
it didn't worked, ie, colors didn't changed
Today, I did the same change in microwindows code, but "all red", and it

Query For Ya,
I followed your advice and downloaded the Firegl 8800 drivers. I
installed them, set my bit depth to 24, however I cannot get the X
server to start @ any other resolution then 640x480.
I know both video card and monitor can do better, as I can get them to
do 1280x1024. I notice how
Stefan,
I tried it with removing the "accel" option, but it didnt help.
Just noticed that Xserver fails when I launch it using '$XFree86
-xf86config /root/XF86Config.new' where XF86Config.new is generated by
'$XFree86 -configure' (the server didnt come up even in the accel mode.)

Hi,
For testing reasons I need to start the Xserver in my Linux Box in
"UnAccelerated Mode". I tried it by starting the X server as `$XFree86
-xf86config /root/XF86Config.new' (server is run as root, with no_accel
option set), but the X server didn't come up. I tried to work it out
with diff. sett
Hello,
I have a problem: 1st I though the WheelEmulation wouldn't work,, but
after running "xev" I saw that the X server treats my 2nd and my 4th
button both as button 2. I tried changing protocols, tried
"MouseManPlusPS/2", "PS/2", "usb"(which gave an error that an usb
protocol wasn't known)

I like to connect my Laptop to Beamers that need 1024 resolution.
Simply requesting for 1024 in XF86Config leads to a white glowing
