Currently when we test images we do so for:

Currently the effort to move forward with smoketesting of images for

This means that images get no testing without you downloading or syncing

There's not been much in the way of pointing at daily image testing this

Ooops, correct result, but wrong copy+paste into my mail:
cat packages_14.04.2-test-iso-150217 | awk -F " " {'print $2'} >
packages_14.04.2-test-iso-150208_filter_awk
This line was
cat packages_14.04.2-test-iso-*150208* | awk -F " " {'print $2'} >

No unwanted packages like the last iso version from 8.2.15.
I did a "mirror" installation with my VMware player 6.0.5 today of both
iso versions (17.2 vs 8.2).
List of installed packages (dpkg -l) are listed below:
Removed packages (17.2):
-apg
-cheese-common
-c
Downloading now.

Hello !
Does it makes sense to test the installation procedure with a virtual
enviroment (like VMware) ?
I guess so, because we only want to check if all parts of the installer
runs fine and in this case we can neglect hardware stacks. Right?

So now we have at least a tentative schedule we can start thinking about

Beta 1 - week commencing 23rd February
Final Beta - week commencing 23rd March

I'll say this one more time, this cycle ...
Please test dailies as they show - if dailies are missing that'll be
because there is RC or Final there for testing - in which case you can
ignore the dailies and do those as well.

So - here we go then, time to start.
Package testing, you'll need a current 14.10 image - which you can get
here [1] - obviously while you're installing that you could also do an
image test for us ;) [2]
On to the reason for the call - we need to start both image and package
testing, as note

Actually, not yet. It needs to be uploaded first. We will notice you

Between now and the Release Candidate, 10th April, we want to
concentrate on Upgrade Testing.
While these tests can be done in vm - they are likely to be 'clean'
installs.
It would be better if we can get real life upgrades tested.
There are 2 upgrade routes we need to test

Those of you who have been running image tests for us through the iso

We have removed the previous post install testcase and replaced them

Serious bug, we still don't have the desktop cd working. I did save
