hello if you are looking for pci-e (8x), i would recommend sas/sata controller with lsi 1068E sas chip. they are nearly perfect with opensolaris. you must look for controller with it firmware (jbod mode) not those with raid enabled (ir mode). normally the cheaper variants are the right ones. on
