manage. The companies say the move is meant to keep their customers
from migrating to a soon to be released 64-bit Intel-based Windows
operating system.

SEARCHSOLARIS.COM WEB LINK OF THE DAY
======================================

"SecurityTracker"
So far, this is the only site we know of that dedicates its sole
existence to compiling reports of security vulnerabilities. That may
be the only thing this site does, but it does it very well. The
current top five vulnerabilities are posted on the home page, and you
can search the database by category, such as vendor, cause and
impact. Information in each vulnerability report includes the vendor
and the affected target, the cause, impact and solution, as well as
both a brief summary and detailed description of the vulnerability.

A look at an off-the-wall story from the Web...

"Global sites left out of Webby nods"
The Webby Awards are the Internet's answer to the Oscars. This year's
nominations give a nod to music, spiritualism and the downright odd.
But they are neither particularly worldly nor especially wide. The
350-member International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences has put
an overwhelming focus on English-language, U.S.-centered sites.
Still, the gala July awards ceremony is expected to draw more than
3,000 technology industry figures wearing some of the same outrageous
fashions as their film industry counterparts. The best news is award
winners must work within a five-words-or-less acceptance speech
limit.
