I got two questions:
1 ) i installed DSL ,when i installed RH 7.1 it asked me for the type of firewalling
i wanted.
I just kept medium.ADLS is set up to bring the connection up.BUT this is where i
need help.
the connection is not available to the LAN.Up to now i was forced to use the
RP-PPPoE once the
connection is established and tell it to make the connection so the other users
have access.
This is not an elegant motus operandi.
Id like the firewall to set up the masquerading and allow connection sharing.
Is there a simple ( and i mean it...im not a programmer : ) ) how-to or just
a few lines
i can type in to make this happen ?
2 ) has to do with NTPD . No not the Northern Telecom Police Department !/... : )
ntpd deamon is started before the ADLS connection is up .Will this prevent NTP
to sync the
clock ? Up to now NTP seems dead and i do not know how i can make sure the daemon
actually
works and adjusts the clock ,, Any suggestions about ntpd's use and time syncing
in general will
be appreciated.
